Puerto MorelosFounded in 1900, Puerto Morelos is a small picturesque village just twenty miles south of Cancun, this tranquil town was the first port on the Mexican Caribbean and for many years, the local population thrived from the exportation of natural chewing gum called “chicle” and from products of the vast coconut plantations.

With the decline on the use of natural gum and the loss of the coconut palms due to a devastating virus, the economy of the area turned to fishing, and most recently , to turism. A very gifted town, Puerto Morelos has a beautifull shallow and unspoiled reef running paralell to the coast less than a quarter of a mile from the town’s white sand beaches.

Puerto MorelosThis reef is part of the second largest barrier in the world, begining north of Cancun and running south all the way to Honduras in Central America. Aware of the importance of this natural resource and having witnessed how an unplanned touristic developement destroyed the reefs in cancun, the comunity requested the goverment to create a protected area.

On February 1998, “ The Puerto Morelos Reef Marine Park “ wich encloses the entire reef area between Cancun and Puerto morelos was created by order of the Mexican goverment. Now we proudly invite you to join us and enjoy this beautifull gift of nature hoping thet you will also care for it and help us to keep it alive for generations to come.

We have been in the bussines of diving and snorkeling around this area since 1978, first in Cancun, and for the last 15 years in Puerto Morelos where due to the great conditions for snorkeling we have especialized in that area and that is all we do right now.

All members of the crew and snorkeling guides have been certified by the port authorities and the national park authorities to work in the area.

We do only prívate snorkeling tours, that is all we do, and we are proud to provide professional and personalized sevice to all our customers.

We are not a big company, in fact, we have only one boat and we are not interested in getting bigger, we were bigger at one time but just got tired of the hassel of chasing travel agencies to get our money and working in a rush with crowded tours which does not give you the chance to interact with your customers.

We do not work travel agencies any more, we make direct contact with all our customers through our web site, promotion in rental houses, restaurants and very important, word of mouth.

Now we are happy to enjoy our tours as much as our customers do, we get to know them and they get to know us and that is a big difference in an area where tourism is getting massive and tourists are seen only as numbers.

With us, you are a person, and we try our best to make you feel happy and safe.

And that is the way we have make a lot of happy customers and friends through the years.

For just a Little more Money you get prívate personalized attention and a whole boat and crew at your service, it is your own tour, and you do not have to depend on other people on your boat to make decisions about it, like someone getting sick wanting to go back to shore before completing the tour, or on the other hand having to wait for the rest of the people on the tour to finish snorkeling when you feel like going back to shore.

First timer? Perfect, you do not have to feel ashamed or pressured by other people waiting on you as you try snorkeling for the first time. You get personalized attention and all the time you want to get confortable with the equipment and the enviroment to be able enjoy your snorkeling tour.
Children? Well, give them all the attention and space they need and deserve, they will have a experience of a life time so make sure it is a good one and not a bad one!

By the way, if children are snorkeling please do not expect to have a discount for them, that happens for example in a buffete were children are supposed to consume about half of what and adult will, but you do not want half the attention on your children when they are involved in a snorkeling tour or do you?

In fact, children usually require more attention than adults when doing an activity like snorkeling either when they are fist timers and have to deal with this new experience, or when they already have snorkeling experience and then tend to be hyperactive in the wáter just as any kid would be on land.
